It’s just an example to show even from a young age, Candy has always been there for Peppermint.

Nah, she always had them. If I ever make a book I will go back and redraw them in the old comics but I am too busy to do that now.
I hope you like her design too, I’ve had to change it over 10 times already.
I think she was wearing the gloves to hide them.
Her fingerless long gloves would cover the stripes but, not her digital pads. Then a again Candy main method of attack is punch she could simply keep her hand in a fist to hide them.

Dem backgrounds… you can really tell that a good amount of time and effort went into them. I especially like the first and second panel backgrounds. And if I’m not mistaken, isn’t that the moon Lacie destroyed?
I personally feel like you’ve balanced the level of detail really well. Enough that it enhances the comic, doesn’t detract from the main image/messsage in a panel, and (perhaps most important of all) doesn’t create needlessly exhausting work for you! I’ve heard it said from another artist that while putting in tons of little details is quite fun, the “return” for doing so just isn’t worth the time/effort.
I hate to nitpick because you’re doing so many things WELL and I don’t want to give the impression the comic has any major flaws. So I’d just like to ask about Candy’s hand in the first panel – what exactly is she doing with her arms? Are they being crossed, or is more of the hand-on-hip pose? Doesn’t affect the rest of the comic, but it just seemed a little off to me.

Yep, that’s the moon! I put it there t show this is not an origins comic as quite a few people thought it was!
Personally I do not feel like my comic is detailed at all. I keep a lot of things simple, but, I try to ink them very neatly, which takes a long time.
As for Candy in panel 1, her left arm is hanging and her right hand is clutching onto her upper arm, her gloves go past her elbow, remember! See it now? If I moved her slightly upwards it would translate easier, but she fits into frame better down where she is.

Alright, bad joke aside, this comic seems like a prelude of hardship to come, judging from flashbacks with a sorrow-filled speech to boot presented here, can’t wait to see what happens next!
It sucks, being in the future. I always celebrate stuff alone and then 8-10 hours later the rest of the world joins in but by then I am already asleep.
It’s like being 80 years old.
I’m guessing Lacie actually helped keep Candy human(oid) by giving her an outlet, so she didn’t build up too much steam. Does that kinda fit?

That’s actually less “theory” than “experience”. I used that idea already in writing my books. It’s a robot who annoys the were-girl and gets constantly pounded. She’s also protective of a kid, but there’s nobody in-house to protect her from. (No Lacie, for instance.)
MiniCandy is aborbs.^^ In a “touch her and i bite you something off that you wish i didnt!”-way. Mini Peppers too. Those marks on Candys skin are a nice detail by the way.
And that little brushie-brushie scene is also pretty heartwarming.

Whenever I see these dark bubbles, it makes me think some ‘being’ is reading out what these characters are thinking from some all knowing book.

Haha, nah it’s either character thoughts/narration or Mochi. I think the only time I used it omnisciently was during the first 5 strips.

Hah! I have that game. it’s a really fun gimmick, the Were-hog thing. His voice gets a bit too silly instead of tough, though.

Especially here at CS, where a lot of people are Sonic fans!
Fun fact of the day, The Were in Werewolf definition means “Man”, With that said calling a Werewolf hybrid Sonic a Werehog, is basically calling Sonic a “Manhog.” Which would be Sonic turning into a human hedgehog hybrid, yeah just think about, I’ll give you a second.
I really like that third panel, I always like to see Candys motherly side, especially when it’s as calm as that.
Either-way, can’t wait for the next page!

It’s nice to see an artist who not only has a strong interest in their own work, but doesn’t have a massive ego. You have the consideration to your fans to recognize them & not be a shrewd jerk, and I suppose I just wanted to mention that to you. It’s probably not a big deal, but It’s pretty damn hard to come by from my experiences. Also, love the title of this great strip

Regarding the art, I always want to try and be better? I guess? Most of my conversation with eagle-eye DSong, for example, always end up with me justifying choices I made while drawing, or admitting to faults that I am too lazy to clean up. It’s nice people notice these! They really make me think before making the next strip, and hopefully make my art evolve!
As for the webcomic, a webcomic isn’t a webcomic without readers, which is why I respect everyone who does or doesn’t comment. I don’t treat them like “fans” – infact I don’t think I call them that, they are people just like me, and just like in reality, all I want to do is impress them by being the best I can be and no more.

Holy merciful mother of crap! In just four little boxes you put me on the emotional roller coaster that seems to be putting us all on a hell of a trip for the foreseeable future of the comic. I usually count on this comic for humor and silly but this was unprecedented. Thank you for the future wild ride. I find this comic guilty of awesome in the first degree.

I see the moon’s still recovering from that “Moonbeam” thing. But that what makes the Surface cooler.
Wait, How old is candy supposed to be in the second panel? The bios say that Peppermint is 9 and a half, and Candy is 27, which means at minimum Candy is 18, if Peppermint is 6 months old there, which I doubt. Unless Candy ages slightly faster.
Who knows! Maybe you’ll have to wait until Peppermint and Candy’s past are uncovered!
I see beasts are like dogs in a way. So if a dog’s first year means it’s 7, so a beast would be that age too.

With that logic, when Peppermint was 6, Candy hadn’t even been born.
