Lacie, stealing from thieves? Does that make her some sort of anti-Robin Hood?
Anyway, introducing Daifuku! A character who will change inside and outside through the course of the story. I hope she grows on you!
Stay tuned for the next instalment next week!

Woo! New comic!
And a mysterious new character…thrilling, old chap!
Why thank you, sir!
Aww shit, I love me dem backgrounds, and oh my at this new ~mysterious~ character
Mysterious indeed!
Also thanks, I really had a time finding a colour scheme that won’t clash with any of the the new and old characters.
one word… awsome.
One reply: cheers!
Lookin good and interesting!
Thanks, now to just wait another week! ;-;
She ran withouth sharing her philosophy with her new friend!!
So that would be 大福? Which, according to my dictionary can be translated as ‘great fortune’, ‘good luck’, or ‘rice cake stuffed with bean jam’. I think if I ever met her i would stick with ‘Daifuku’ and would keep my hands to myself. Actually, make that Daifuku-san.
Yeah, it’s a common Japanese treat that I love to bits. Since she is of Asian origin, and the other characters are also loosely named on sweets, I thought it fitted in perfectly!
Lol just left the sack of money on the ground. Maybe now Lacie can just come back and get it once Daifuku leaves
. Very symmetrical Lacie in the 3rd panel, but captured her look of fear quite well. Nice yin-yang sword btw
I looove drawing this sword, haha. Also thanks!
I completely forgot to mention this: I think an ‘anti-Robin Hood’ would be someone who steals from the poor to give to the rich. In the US we call them the IRS (amoung other things).
Haha. I know that feel. Even running off to Japan I cannot escape British Tax.
oh god what happened to lacie’s eye?
but i like this new character so far keep it up
Dramatic shadows > eye(s)
I poked it! Nah, I just wanted some dramatic shadows and failed I think.
OOOO lacie was like F This and dropped the sack! Id love to see how the newcomer interacts with the other characters haha!
Yep she pretty much is flipping us the bird in that last panel!
I was wondering about that. It was a bit hard to tell.
It looks like D got her family’s money/goods back without having to kill the young woman with bat wings on her back. Good for her.
Good…for now!
It’s a good start, but the one thing that bothers me is there’s not even a shaded shape of lacie’s right eye there. Left eye?
I tried it, it looked very weird. I figured only showing the one eye would add some drama.
I was half right.
Wow, Lacy was scared enough too let go of her swag?!?
Oh times, oh wonders!!!
I think im allread in love with nin-chan here.^^ A Yin-Yang symbol as the swords guard is a very nice idea too.
But is it just me or is Lacy smiling in 4? Rice cake stuffed with bean jam should run for it methinks.^^
haha, thanks!
And yes, she is smiling, in a “I’ll just steal it next time!” sort of way.
Well, i was more thinking of a “Ha, i boobytrapped this bag with dog poo and a timer and it will blow in 3, 2…” but hey.^^
lol EVEN Lacie is scared. i’d fun too though. lol
“Lacie, stealing from thieves? Does that make her some sort of anti-Robin Hood?” Nope, just makes her even more of a Lovable Greedy Kleptomaniac.
First she stole a big ass bag of Money, then she stole Shelbie heart, after that she took 40 cakes when no one was looking, (That’s as many as Four Tens. And that’s terrible.), and now a smaller bag of Money.
But, digress for This whole Page is full BadAssness.
Lacie given up in the money? Well, Daifuku must be fucking badass because of that!
Well, as the daughter of Eastern Estuary’s largest criminal syndicate I would say she has quite the reputation!
Awesome, a new character.
Can’t wait to see more from Daifuku-san-sama-chan-kun-dono-sensei.
The third.
Dear me, I hope I’m not missing an honorific.
You missed the o- at the beginning, and maybe -tan? If you count that one. XDD
I think you both got them all!
Yet another one who won’t do her job. XD Though she at least doesn’t want to for a nobler reason, I think. owo
Oh!! And is Lacie giving the finger in the las panel? XDDDDDD
Haha, Daifuku isn’t as dark as the rest of her family!
And yes, Lacie is! Right at YOU!
Very cool
. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the new character.
Thanks dude!! I hope she fits in..!
Maybe this near death experience will convince Lacie to be a little nicer to Shelbie!
Though.. the bag of money convinces me to believe that Lacie was robbing some poor lass.
Dude, Lacie gets the shit beaten out of her everyday by Candy that, in itself is near death experience.
Hm.. maybe, but it seemed more of hateful friendship (in my opinion). I have never seen Lacie look so scared, even with Candy’s merciless beatings.
Or maybe, Lacie is just a giant masochist.
*Ahem… Puts on Fancier reading glasses over fancy reading glasses and, fancy pipe* This is Lacie thought process while being Chase by Daifuku, if she were to be Narrating instead of Daifuku.
Scene 1: “Crap she catching up to me.”
Scene 2: “DAMNIT, FUCK, SHIT, DAMNIT! MAYBE I CAN BREAK FREE IF I KEEP RUNNING.”
Scene 3: “Well Fuck, I’m fucking screw in the ass. My only regret is-… Wait Minute did this Bitch seriously say run.”
Scene 4: “Fucking Dumb ass Sucker, I’ll just come back and, steal that Money again, LIKE A BOSS! (damn I’m Awesome.)”
and, that good people of internet is why elephant are not consider people, and why you should never from a Bloodline of Assassins and, thieves.
Yeah, pretty much this – especially the I am awesome part!
Ahem,… Damn Straight.
Oh, God! You also have an yin-yang sword, J! I’ve created a similar one for a villain of an RPG game I dungeon-mastered some time ago.
And let’s see what secrets Daifuku shall unfold. She seemed too serious compared to the others in this introduction… will she have a weird side? XD
Let’s wait and see.
Haha, what are the chances! The sword’s design and everything will have a purpose soon! Please, keep reading!
Just out of curiosity, will Daifuku be a recurring character after this story or will she be a one time character?
I am hoping, if people grow attached to her, to introduce her into the Big Brother hou- er, Peppermint’s house. Who knows!
I hope she joins the house. Maybe she developed a weird lesbian lust for Shelbie, get a odd live triangle going.
Epic.
Thank you! Also, thanks for commenting!
Yo Jkun, here’s a few Questions.
1.Did Lacie Stole the loot directly from Daifuku, or from her family Headquarters, or from a Bank in the Eastern Estuary? Like she stole Daifuku priority target mission.
2. If she did steal from directly from Daifuku Family Headquarters, how?
3. Does Daifuku Katana have a name like Yoshimitsu or, some name related to Sweets like “Sweet-and-sour”, or “White Chocolate & Black Vanilla”, or “Blackberry-n-Whiteberry.” or even, “Cookies n’ Cream.”?
1. Straight from her family’s “headquarters”.
2. She has her ways!
3. Nope – not yet!
1.Wow, Lacie Capable of break in the Headquarters of the Largest Criminal Family Organisation in Eastern Estuary, I have a New found respect for Lacie.
2. I going to guess Portal, Ninjutsu, Magic, Science, MagicalScience, Alchemy.… Ooor did she just ran into the building really fucking fast, stolen the closes thing to be call treasure, then ran out at top speed, and then by the time she’s caught by Daifuku, she started slowing down in her speed.
3. Can’t wait to see it.
So it looks like the new character is a ninja that spares lives (including Lacie’s) Awesome.
I think this is a beginning of a beautiful friendship!
what a bafm. haha i bet she and candy could learn a lot from each other
What’s a bafm?!
Uh, I hate to disagree but Daifuku [大福] is a kind of a soft rice cake stuffed with sweetened bean jam.
It means both “sweet rice bun” and “good/great fortune”.
Every CS character is loosely named after some sort of sweet. Daifuku, being Japanese, is also named after a rice cake. Daifuku (rice cakes) in general are named after the term “good luck” or “fortune”. (See your name comment)
Hmmm. It also means “a ledger” or “an account”.
So the next character is supposed to be “The Accountant From Hell” ?
That pretty well squares with my opinion of those soulless creatures…
I have never heard the word used as an accountant (会計官) or ledger (台帳). In the Edo period, however, an account book, mostly likely used for monetary transactions was called a 大福餅 (daifukuchou), but as I said, the word no longer means that.
