when do you do the “to the power of” thing when using PEMDAS
PEDMAS = Parentheses, Exponents (Powers), Division and Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction. So powers are done before division and multiplication. If you have multiple powers, go right to left. 10^2^3 = 10^8 = 100 000 000. (10^2)^3 = 10^6 = 1 000 000.
Let’s see:
(4!+8) = 4*3*2*1 + 8 = 24+8 = 32
32/4 = 8
(2+3*4) = 2+12 = 14
14^2 = 196
3^4 = 81
(9+10)(15-21) = 19 * -6 = -114
7*(17-15) = 7*2 = 14
8 + 196 – 81 – 114 + 14 = 23
The exclamation mark could have meant 23 factorial, which is a MUCH larger number.

Actually, the ! means that we are doing 23 factorial, which makes thi problem so, so wrong =’( Can’t just go throwing around exclamatory remarks in mathematical solutions.
